The role:
Saltworks is hiring a Junior Electrical Commissioning Engineer/Technologist to support the startup and delivery of advanced clean technology systems. If you're early in your engineering career and eager to grow through hands-on fieldwork, this role offers direct exposure to the full project lifecycle — working alongside experienced engineers at our facility and at customer sites worldwide.
You will assist in planning and executing electrical commissioning activities, collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners to bring complex systems to life.
Travel Commitment: This position involves approximately 50% travel, with typical field rotations of 2–3 weeks. Some projects may require extended stays of 6–12 weeks, depending on customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work alongside multi-disciplinary teams to execute commissioning, troubleshooting, and system handovers.
- Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and resource coordination.
- Contribute to refining commissioning procedures and best practices.
- Provide design feedback to improve future systems.
- Represent Saltworks professionally at customer sites.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, a diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
- 1–2 years of hands-on experience in commissioning, fieldwork, or technical project support.
- Familiarity with industrial safety standards and commissioning practices.
- Exposure to electrical or mechanical systems, instrumentation, or process control is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with a safety-first mindset.
- A valid passport and the ability to travel internationally without restrictions.
