Technical Project Manager

Richmond, BC, Canada
Full Time
Experienced

Saltworks Technologies is a leading Canadian cleantech company solving two of the world's most pressing industrial challenges: water sustainability and critical minerals supply. We design and build advanced industrial water treatment and lithium refining systems for some of the world's most recognized companies – in semiconductors, mining, automotive, and more. Saltworks is a 2025 Fast 50 Company and EY Entrepreneur of the Year award winner.

The role:

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Technical Project Manager (TPM) coordinates engineering activities across our advanced water treatment and lithium refining projects. As the primary liaison between the Project Management Office (PMO) and our multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will ensure engineering deliverables are coordinated, integrated, and progressing according to project requirements from proposal through delivery.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own the engineering execution plan, deliverables register, and milestone schedule, keeping them current and actionable throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate Process, Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls deliverables from proposal through detailed design, fabrication, construction, and system handover.
  • Serve as the primary engineering interface with the PMO, providing consolidated status updates, managing change requests, and maintaining stakeholder alignment.
  • Lead engineering stand-ups, milestone reviews, and multidisciplinary working sessions, tracking actions to completion.
  • Identify and resolve interface issues between disciplines before they impact project scope, schedule, or quality.
  • Continuously improve engineering workflows and execution practices to right-size effort and support business needs.

You will be a great fit if you have:

  • A degree in Process, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Integrated Engineering, with P.Eng. registration with EGBC or eligibility to register.
  • 7+ years of engineering experience, including 2+ years coordinating multi-discipline deliverables on capital or industrial process projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills — you write clearly, run effective meetings, and communicate proactively.
  • Technical judgment across disciplines — you can read drawings, identify risks, challenge estimates and sequencing, and step in to help unblock issues when a project needs it.
  • Proven ability to coordinate across complex projects with multiple stakeholders — you empower discipline leads, earn their trust, and build alignment across teams with competing priorities.
  • Active fluency with AI tools (Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) and a track record of applying them to real engineering or project work.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with Aras Innovator (PLM), AutoCAD Plant 3D, SolidWorks, EPLAN, Wrike, and Bluebeam.
